No someday, make today the that you are going to do it. Whether it be solving a rubik's cube (shameless plug), going to another state or starting that book. There is no better time or day to do it than today, right now. Too often in life we become so overwhelmed by what the future holds that it can distract us from doing what we have always wanted to do. These distractions can take away what Christ has for us in this present moment. For so long I had dreams and passions for doing things that I could have been doing during right then. But I would make excuses "I can run today it's waaaayyy to cold". Or "Oh I want to go there so bad (It's only 5 hours away), but it's too long of a drive" (watch tv or youtube for a couple of hours).
It can be hard to find the balance of things between what you can be doing now and what steps you can take for future things that you want to accomplish. Think about something you have always wanted to do, or a place that you have always wanted to see. What can you be doing now that will help you get there, who can you ask to walk with you to keep you accountable towards these goals? My all-time favorite movie is called The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. This movie encapsulates exactly what I am talking about. The main character Walter played by Ben Stiller is this quiet guy working at a magazine company processing pictures that these photographers send to him from all over the world. A picture goes missing and being lead by this passion to go he leaves. He travels to find the photographer and ask him where the picture went. Through this search he finds more than just a picture, he rediscovers his purpose and falls in love with the woman of his dreams.
It may seem fictional and for the most part it is, however the moment. The exact moment where he decided I need to go, changed his life forever. Too many people pass without doing what they have always wanted to. Don't wait for tomorrow. As were reminded in James 4:13-14.
13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Go, be lead by the Lord and see what he has for you! I promise you it is not watching YouTube in that bed or TV on the couch, the Lord has something so amazing for us that is so much greater than we could ever imagine.
